Where to eat in Chicago?

I’m going to be in the Loop for a couple of days next week. I think I’m going to go to Carson’s Ribs (I’m a BBQ fanatic), but where else would you recommend? Places with bars inside would be favored, since I’ll be alone and would like to have a few drinks. What about this Weber Grill place? Looks interesting.

Carson’s is right on Wells St. ; food is great but the atmosphere is plain. You could have a drink elsewhere first before heading over for your ribs. Brehon Pub is right down the street at 731 N Wells, if you want a typical Irish Chicago place.

Or you could dine on ribs at Fireplace Inn, further North on Wells; they have a beautiful bar- or you might like the Suite Lounge (more upscale than Brehon) for your pre-dinner drink before Fireplace.

I don’t know if it still exists or not, but there used to be a restaurant called Shuckers up towards the north side of downtown. Although it’s a sea food place, their prime rib was worth the 6 hour road trip when I was in college.

Been close to 15 years since I’ve been there, though.

If you’re looking for bars, there was also a bar called the "angry b*tch" or something like that. It was a western style bar, where the waitresses were rude, crude and abusive. Oddly, this made it a popular place…
